Welcome to the JDB Laboratory

Located in the Biomedical Engineering Department of the Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis. We are a part of the UoM-UTHSC Joint Graduation Program. Our lab is focused on developing chitosan-based materials for a wide range of biomedical implant and tissue engineering/regenerative medicine applications in the orthopedic and dental/craniofacial areas.

News & Announcements

Chitosan Research

Chitosan, a linear polysaccharide made from chitin, has has a number of commercial and possible biomedical uses. In medicine, it is used in the development of nanomaterials, bioadhesives, and wound dressing materials. Learn about how we use chitosan here.
